On 28 July 2018 Sunshine Coast Regional Council commenced public consultation of several proposed major amendments to the Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme. Some of those amendments include restricting Dual occupancy development in the Medium density residential zone to lots with a minimum frontage of 15m.
The purpose of this change is to prevent reconfiguration of Medium density residential zoned land into small lots that can then accommodated Dual occupancies. It is Council’s opinion that this type of development is having a deleterious impact on streetscape character and on-street parking.
If you own or are looking to develop your Medium density residential zoned lot then ring Terry at Emerge Town Planning Sunshine Coast for town planning application advice on how these changes may affect your property. A submission during consultation may protect your property’s development potential and prevent devaluation. As a leading Town Planner Sunshine Coast, Terry can also provide development application advice on how to secure current provisions under a superseded town planning application.
Submissions close 7 September 2018.
